The primary activity of Velika Planina, d.o.o. is managing the cable car and other cableway systems, ensuring safe and environmentally friendly access to the mountain. In 2023, we opened a new six-seater chairlift, providing visitors with faster, safer, and more user-friendly access from the upper cable car station to the summit of Velika Planina. The new chairlift is designed with sustainability in mind, minimizing the environmental footprint of transportation on the mountain.
In addition to transportation, we offer hospitality and tourism services that enrich our visitors’ experiences. Our efforts focus on preserving local traditions and maintaining a responsible approach to nature.
Hospitality Offerings
On Velika Planina, you can enjoy a selection of culinary experiences:
- Gostilna Zeleni Rob – Located near the intermediate station of the Šimnovec six-seater chairlift, this inn offers local dishes and snacks accompanied by stunning views.
- Okrepčevalnica Skodla – Situated close to the upper cable car station, this snack bar is the perfect spot to relax with warm drinks and snacks. Nearby, you’ll find nature-friendly play equipment for children and the Jurček children’s ski lift.
- Letni vrt Pod žičnico – Located at the lower cable car station, this summer garden provides refreshing shade during hot summer months. A wide range of refreshing drinks and snacks ensures you stay cool and energized while enjoying views of the surrounding peaks.
