Cablecar is operating during the holidays everyday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m, every full hour.
On Christmas eve is operating until 3 a.m.
On Sunday, on holy evening, a traditional Christmas mass will be held in Velika planina in the chapel of Marija Snežna, which will be led by pastor Frenk Trunkel. The cablecar will operate all night until 3 in the morning, every full hour. It is a 30-minute walk from the top of the cablecar to Zeleni Rob. The Chapel of Mary of the Snows is located in a shepherd’s village and is 10-15 minutes away from the Zeleni rob inn.
On Sunday, December 24, return tickets will be available from 6pm for those heading to midnight with cablecar at a reduced price. An adult return ticket for the cablecar will be only €15.00 on Christmas Eve, and a child’s ticket will be only €10.00. Promotional tickets are only valid on the day of purchase.
Zeleni rob restauranr will be also open. Of course, the team will also take care of hungry stomachs. You will refresh yourself with sweet cottage cheese štruklje, stews and other mountain delicacies. We invite all visitors to walk to the chapel with torches and experience the real charm of a walk on the snowy Velika planina.
We recommend warm and waterproof clothing and footwear and a headlamp. Due to the possibility of icy parts of the route, we recommend the use of crampons.
