Due to the anticipated increase in visitors, we would like to provide some information if you plan to visit Velika Planina in the coming days.

At the lower cable car station, parking and parking lots will be managed by attendants. Due to the expected higher number of vehicles, an additional parking lot at Kopišča will be opened. From there, on weekends and holidays, a free shuttle bus will operate between the parking lot (Kopišča) and the lower cable car station, running back and forth between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Please follow the instructions of the attendants.

The parking areas at Rakove Ravni, Ušivec, and Mačkin kot on Velika Planina are accessible throughout the day on weekends and holidays (with alternating traffic on the main road Podlom – Kranjski Rak). The state road Podlom – Kranjski Rak remains closed between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM on weekdays. The only detour is via Gornji Grad – Radmirje – Luče – Podvolovljek. Please follow the instructions of the attendants at the parking lots.

To preserve the mountain and its natural beauty for future generations, we kindly ask visitors to stay on the designated paths that crisscross the entire area of the mountain. Every step off the path can leave lasting damage to the vegetation and disturb the delicate balance of this ecosystem. Additionally, please refrain from picking flowers and take your trash with you back down to the valley. Dogs must be kept on a leash and require a muzzle on the cable car. Please do not disturb the livestock on the mountain, and observe the cows only from a distance.

For easier access to Velika Planina, we recommend using the cable car and the new chairlift during the early hours, which will take you quickly and comfortably to the top of Velika Planina. The cable car and chairlift operate daily according to the regular schedule. During peak times, they run continuously. The lower cable car station is located in the Kamniška Bistrica valley, at the address Kamniška Bistrica 2, 1242 Stahovica.

If you are traveling to Velika Planina from the Kranjski Rak direction, please pay attention to and follow the traffic signals. The only official road from the Kamnik direction to the parking lots below Velika Planina is the state road Podlom – Kranjski Rak, which, as mentioned above, is closed on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During this time, a detour is in place via the state road Gornji Grad – Radmirje – Luče – Podvolovljek.
