Extension of the total closure due to landslide and carriageway rehabilitation on the state road Podlom[1]Kranjski Rak The Directorate of Infrastructure of the Republic of Slovenia has ongoing landslide and carriageway rehabilitation on the state road RT-924, section 3559 Podlom-Kranjski Rak between km 0.000 and km 0.500. As part of the works, the damaged roadway is planned to be resurfaced in the subsection from km 0.000 to km 0.350.

In the sub-section from km 0.350 to km 0.500, rehabilitation of damaged trench and embankment banks with supporting and supporting stone-concrete layers, stone linings of the banks, protection with hexagonal nets, rehabilitation of the bed of a small torrent with a road culvert, and complete restoration of the roadway is planned. The entire section from km 0.000 to km 0.500 will have deep drainage (drainage), steel guardrails and traffic equipment and signaling. Work is currently underway to build retaining walls under the road, which “go” into more than half of the road and are technically impossible to build without a complete closure. It is also not possible to construct retaining walls that will support the steep and landslide bank above the road.
The complete closure, which was previously planned until 24/06/2024, will be extended until 30/08/2024. Intervention vehicles will be allowed to pass even during the complete closure. During weekends, due to access to Veliko Planina, the road will be open or during this time, traffic will flow alternately in one direction, with the help of traffic-dependent traffic lights. During the complete closure, a detour will be organized on state roads on the route Podlom-Gornji Grad-Radmirje-Ljubno ob Savinja-Luče-Podvolovljek and vice versa.
